Liz and Graham Johnston

Liz & Graham Johnston have worked in the fields of Adult & Community Education/Development, Advice & Guidance and Employment & Regeneration since 1988.

Their experience to date includes:

  • Delivery of the Workplace Learning Advocates Initiative to support learning in non-unionised workplaces.

  • Local Government ESF/SRB project management.

  • Working at a grass roots level supporting voluntary groups to develop community based initiatives.

  • Training (Delivery of NOCN & NVQ) - C&G730/6 & D32, D33 qualified.

  • Careers Guidance (Youth & Adult) - Dip. in Careers Guidance qualified.

  • Inspection – ALI/Ofsted, EV – OCN trained.

Their main focus at present is the delivery of courses that train people to deliver information and advice on learning to their work colleagues or people in the local community. The courses are used to train Workplace Learning Advocates, Employability Champions, Community Learning Champions or Learning Reps in a range of workplace or community settings.

In addition to this work the company operates a range of training and consultancy services.

  • Taste of Advice, Teaching & Development Work in Community Settings (Level 2)

  • Information & Advice (Level 2)

  • Taste of the Modern Office (Level 2)

  • Taste of Caring for Children & Adults (Level 2)

Non accredited courses can be delivered in the above vocational areas and we also offer confidence building, job hunting, teaching and motivational interviewing skills courses. We can develop new taster courses in all vocational areas. Our courses can be delivered in a classroom setting or via an E-Learning platform.

We offer a Workplace Learning Advocates On-line course that trains people to understand the range of training opportunities that are available and how to promote these opportunities to work colleagues. This course can be used to support work in a range of workplace and community settings.

We also offer consultancy in the following areas:

  • Bid writing

  • Quality improvement

  • Widening participation & Equality/Diversity

  • Research to identify local/regional needs

  • Planning/target setting/delivery methods

  • Contract management

  • Evaluation of impact

This consultancy support can be offered on a one-to-one basis or through workshop sessions.
